What changed in January and February?

March 6, 2018

The first two months of the year saw continued momentum for renewable project development in Australia. We added 30 new projects to the SERA tracker, the largest number of additions since August 2017. Solar development dominated the new additions, and New South Wales was the state with the strongest capacity growth.

Here are the highlights from the past two months:

  • 30 assets operated by 22 companies were added

  • These projects add a further 2.2 GWac of solar capacity, 0.4 GWac of wind and 0.1 GWac of storage, for a total of 2.7 GWac of capacity additions

  • Of the 22 companies, 2 are new entrants to the Tracker

  • This takes the total capacity in the Tracker to 59.4 GW from 427 assets

  • We refreshed the data for a further 78 projects already in the Tracker, accounting for 8.8 GWac
